Dr.Talathoti Prithvi Raj

Dr.Talathoti Prtihvi Raj has a special name & fame, in modern literary trend in Telugu poetry. Haiku are new type of poetic expressions, which conveys, bundle of meaning & thoughts with limited, words. The economy of using words in making the poetry a great significant is the characteristic of Haiku, for which Dr.Talathoti Prithvi Raj is remembered for ever. Haiku indeed has become his sir name. He loved, followed & disseminated haiku in the hearts of Telugu people. Not being content of his literary

Pleasure & thrust, he founded Indian Haiku Club, a literary and cultural organization; and published number of books on Haiku. He started monthly magazine on Haiku. Inspiring many young poets to write Haiku and got them published.

Birth, Origin & Education:

Born to Smt Samrajyam & Satyanandam, of Kavali, in Nellore District on 6th July 1970. Dr.Prithvi did his primary education in Ravindra Bharathi public school in Addanki. He laid his foundation in primary education under guidance of his beloved teacher Sri Maddulati Master. He prosecuted his higher schooling in prakasam BoysSchool,Addanki, after completion of 6th standard education in his native place, Tubadu village, of Guntur. All his child-hood memories are raw material that were given a shape in his Haiku poetry.

While doing his graduation in Literature in Loyola College, Vijayawada and he drew the inspiration from his guru Dr.Gumma Sambhasiva Rao and after words did his M.A.(Telugu Lecturer)in Central University, Hyderabad. His intellectual aspriration towards literature is catalyzed by the U.G.C. fellowship and compleated Ph.D success fully in Andhra university, Visakhapatnam. Under guidance of Prof Parvataneni Subba Rao. He produced a thesis on his favourite cine writer and famous lyricist Acharya Athreya. The thesis is titled as “Athreya Cinema sambhashnalu-Oka pariseelana” (A critical analytical review on the cinema scripts of Acharya Athreya)

The award of Ph.D for his thesis was passed on by the then Governor Sri Ranga Rajan in 2000. This thesis written by Dr.Talathoti Prithvi Raj had attained a special significance as it is first of its kind on the eminent script writer Acharya Athreya. Acharya Athreya, is known as compendium of dialogues in the field of script writing. His thesis attracted the attention & received the applause & appreciations of many eminent persons of Telugu film industry like late Sri Kongara Jagayya, Late Sri D.V.Narasa Raju, Late Bollimuntha Srivarama Krishna, Late Sri Gummadi Venkateswara Rao, Dr.D.Rama Naidu, Sri J.K.Bharavi,Sri Akella, Sri Diwakara Babu, Sri Tanikella Bharani and Smt Padmavathi Athreya.

Employment:

Soon after he received his Ph.D,in 2000, he secured job in A.M.A.L.Colleg- Anakapalli as a Telugu Lecturer, by his intellectual and meritorious stand. Since then, he is serving as a lecturer and as a man of noble profession. He participated, in many National & State level seminars, and presented papers on Telugu Literature.

As a Poet:

His Creativity in poetry began springing & sprouting out from X standard on words. The then standard weakly magazine Andhra Sachithra Varapathrika got the credit of having published his first poetic art with that impetus & inspiration, his creative writing picked up fast pace and produced number of poems, short stories, cartoons etc.

Dr.T.Prithvi Raj, when he is doing his B.A. Literature in Andhra Loyola College, Vijayawada, got inspired and prompted by his Lecturer Dr.Gumma Sambhasiva Rao, resumed his creative writings. Yuva Bharathi programme of All India Radio, Vijayawada, Broadcasted his literary writings. The then weekly magazine MAYURI published some of his creative literary works.

Allured and taken a fancy to cine field, he tried his luck as lyric writer, but on being advised disparagingly by some elders in the field, he was away from that colourful field. Later, after completion of his Ph.D as many as 2000 Haiku were given expression in the form of Greetings

Sureedu Choopuki” are the first Haiku sprouted from his poetic heart and showered moon light in the field of Telugu Literature. Childhood memories were given expressions in Haiku. Vennela, Chinukulu, Vasantham, Rojuko Suryudu, Neelaakaasam, Kaluvalu, Chandra kireeti, Ruthubrahmanam are some of his Haiku Books.And Prithvi Senryu,Prithvi Tankalu,Prithvi Photo Haiku books are related to haiku poetry form; that brought him name and fame. Acharya Athreya literary works MANASUKAVI,ATHREYA NATAKA SAHITHYAM-SABHASHNALU are critical works. MANISHI, NALLADORALU are his long poetry books. MANISHILO is the poetic definition book, ADUGULU is the Naanee poetry book.

For some time he is editor of Haiku Monthly magazine and other magazine Samveekshana

Spoken on many aspects of poetry, like Naanee, Haiku, Mini poetry etc, on many occasions organized by various literary organizations. Presented his speeches on various aspects of literature, by power point presentation

Man behind Audio/Video C.D. making on some literary aspects: Various literary programmes were made in to Audio & Video forms, by Dr.T.Prithvi Raj. About 200 (Audio/Video)C.D.s are made to his credit.

A painter in Poet: He painted to various, poetic expressions and designed the cover pages to poetry books.

A good cartoonist: He has drawn cartoons on various literary aspects.

Founder of Indian haiku Club:

As many as 70 literary Programmes were organized by the Indian Haiku Club. Which was founded by Dr.Talathoti Prithvi Raj in 2002. Literary programmes were organized with eminent writers, poets, like Dr.Ravuri Bhardwaja, Dr.N.Gopi, S.Siva Reddy, Prof.Tangirala Venkata Subba Rao, Sri Jwala mukhi, Prof.Kovela Suprasanna Charya, Dr.Addepalli Rama Mohan Rao, Peddibotla Subbaramayya, Dr.Endluri Sudhakar, Dr.Dwana Sasthri, Dr.Kadiyala Rama Mohan Roy,V.A.K.Ranga Rao,Chalasani Prasad, Sri Ichapurapu Ramachandram, Dr.Rentala

Dr.Prithvi Raj successfully organized all these programmes as a president of Indian Haiku Club. He organized conferences on American Haiku poets Minerva T. Bloom & Paul David Mena

Convener of National Level Haiku Seminar on Haiku:

At national Level he organized a seminar on Haiku on 28 may 2006, besides this he had given participation in National seminars and made paper presentations.

Founder of Athreya Sahithee Sravanthi:

Dr.Talathoti Prithvi Raj Established and founded a Athreya Sahithee Sravanthi;in the name of great script writer, and lyricist writer Acharya Athreya. This organization is auxiliary unit to INDIAN HAIKU CLUB. Every year Prithvi Raj conducts Athreya

Vardhanthi&jayanthi saabhas and on such occassions he arranges Athreya Puraskar Awards. So for cine lyricists Sri Gurucharan,Jaladi were the eminent persons received the sahithee puraskar

Other scores & Awards:

The main purpose of establishing Indian Haiku Club, is to honour the eminent persons in the field of literature and to encourage the youngsters who are upcoming in the Literary field. Haiku Award and Naanee awards,Prof.Rokka Radhakrishna Sahithee Puraskaram,Prof.J.M.Naidu Sahithee Puraskaram,Ugadi sahithee Puraskaram,Sankranthi Sahithee Puraskaram are some of the awards established in the name of great personalities and the awards would be presented to deserving candidates. Sri K.Sivareddy,Dr.N.Gopi are the great personalities; were honoured with KAVITHA PRAPOORNA titile by the Haiku Club. Folk lyricist Sri Jaladi, was honoured with JANAPADA SIROMANI title

Recipient of Haiku Award:

Andhra Saraswatha Samithi of Machilipatnam awarded Haiku Sahithee Puraskaram and prize money of Rs.2000/-to Dr.T.Prithvi Raj and such honours , awards were plenty in his career.

మనిషి చెట్టు

సృష్టి ఆరంభాన్ని
ఖచ్చితంగా చెప్పలేని కథ
విత్తుది.

గాలిపోసుకొని
చిమ్మచీకటిని తొడుక్కుని
మన్నుతో ఆకృతి పొంది
కాలగర్భంలో
కదలికనేర్చిన కథ
విత్తుది.

కఠినత్వాన్ని
ఛేదించుకు వచ్చే చైతన్యంతో
సున్నితత్వ స్వరూపంతో
కోటి పసిడిపసిమి కాంతుల్తో
సృష్టిని చూస్తూ
జన్మనిచ్చిన నేలతల్లికి
కృతజ్ఞతగా
బీజాల చేతులు జోడించి
వంగి నమస్కరిస్తోంది
మొలకైన మొన్నటి విత్తు.

ప్రకృతి ఒడిలో
అమ్మతనం తప్ప
ఏమీ తెలియనితనంతో
వయస్సుకొచ్చిన
నిన్న మొన్నటి మొక్క
తోడుకోరుకుంది
మరో పక్షికి ఆశ్రయమిచ్చింది.

ఈ అనంత సృష్టిలో
తన రాకపోకలకు సాక్ష్యంగా
ప్రతినిధిగా
తనువున్నన్నాళ్లు
తననీడనే హాయిగా బ్రతకమని
ఆశతో
బీజాల్ని విత్తుకుంటోంది చెట్టు.

జన్మనిచ్చిన మహావృక్షం
తన కళ్ళముందే కాలం చేస్తుంటే
నిర్వేదంతో
చావు పుట్టుకల
చేదు నిజాల్ని దిగమింగుకుంటూ
సృష్టి ధర్మాన్ని గుర్తెరిగి
గుండెను బండగా చేసుకుని
మన్నుని మన్నుకే అప్పగిస్తూ
చేదు క్షణాలైనా
తీపి జ్ఞాపకాలను తలపోసుకుంటూ
కన్నీటిపత్రాలను రాల్చుతూ
మోడుగా నిల్చుంది
మనిషి చెట్టు.

శిలువ బ్రతుకు

ఒక్కొక్కరిది ఒక్కో మార్గం
కొందరిది దుర్మార్గం
మరికొందరిది సన్మార్గం.

పాపం పసివాడ్ని
దారిద్ర్యం దత్తతు తీసుకుంది.
నలుగురు నడిచే మార్గంలో
దయగల చూపులు
కాసులు రాలుస్తాయని
ఆకలి తీరుస్తాయని
బోర్డు పై సుద్దముక్కలా
రోడ్డు పై బాల్యాన్ని అరగతీస్తున్నాడు...
దేవుళ్ళను సృష్టిస్తున్నాడు.
కోట్ల దేవుళ్ళున్న ఈ దేశంలో
కోటానుకోట్ల భక్తుల్లో
కొందరైనా కాసులెయ్యరా అని ఆశపడ్డాడు
ఆకలి తీరలేదు.
ఆకలెక్కువయ్యే కొద్దీ
దేవుడు కళావిహీనమౌతున్నాడు
ధూళితోనే కాదు;
పసివాడి ఆకలి ఆర్తితో..

అందరూ
చివరికి నడిచే మార్గం ఒకటే అయినా
ప్రస్తుతానికి ఆ మార్గం
పసివాడి బతుకు పయనానికి
పరలోక మార్గం
ఆశల స్వర్గం

తుపాకుల మోతలూ!

మొగ్గల శిశువులు
వికసిస్తూ రాలే వృద్ధ కుసుమాలు

ఎదురు చూస్తున్నాయి
వేకువకై పచ్చని చెట్లు

రెండురోజుల యాత్రికులమే మనం

వేట సుగమం చేస్తూ

మట్టైన
చిన్ననాటి స్నేహితుడు

బీడు భూముల మధ్య ఒరిగిన
టెలిఫోన్ స్తంభం వైర్లపై పిట్టలు
సంధ్యా సమయం.

దారి ప్రక్కే ఈత గెలలు
కోసుకుందామంటే
ఆగని రైలు

ఎందరో కాలు మోపెళ్లిన
భూమండలం.
అందరూ వ్యోమగాములే!

ఏడాది సమిష్టి కష్టార్జితం.
వడ్ల బండిని సంతోషంగా లాగుతూ
ఎడ్లు...

చెరువు.
జనావాసానికి దూరంగా
నిండా కలువలు

నేలపై చిందరవందరగా
పగిలిన అద్దం ముక్కలు
మడుగులు.

పచ్చని పొలాలు...
దాన్యరాశులకై విష సర్పాలు
-దళారులు.

అంధులు...
నల్లద్దాల వెనుక ఆవిరయ్యే
కన్నీటి నదులు...

ఈ దోవలో ఎందరో
అపరిచిత పథికుల పరిచయం
కడకు తప్పని ఒంటరి ప్రయాణం

ఎలా వదిలి వెళ్ళను...
ఇహలోక బంధాల్నిమించి

మరామత్తు
కాలం వింత వైద్యుడు

ముత్యాల

మెత్తబడుతూ వర్ష సంగీతం

తల్లి కొంగు వదలడం లేదు...

చెక్కు చెదరని చెరశాలలు.
సమరయోధుల
కన్నీటితో తడిసినవి కదా

ఎవరు గంపకెత్తు కెళ్ళి పోయారో
ఒక్క నక్షత్ర కుసుమం లేదు

చుట్టూ చెట్లు లేవు...
విశాల దీవి నడుమ మనిషిలా నేను
సుస్వరాలకు దూరంగా...

చెరువు విస్తళ్ళు పరిచి
కనులకు వడ్డిస్తోంది
కలువల అందాల విందు

నరకబడుతున్నాయి
పిలకలేస్తూ-గెలలు కాస్తూ
-ఆశల అరటిచెట్టు మనిషి

ప్రేమ మాంద్యం
కుటుంబ వ్యవస్థ
చిన్నాభిన్నం

మనిషి గుండె గుప్పెడే...
అగ్ని పర్వతంలోలా

వర్షిస్తూ దు:ఖ మేఘాలు
సగటుమనిషి హృదయాకాశంలో
నిట్టూర్పుల ఉష్ణవాయువు

ప్రతిఘటించింది జంతువైనా!
పట్టి పీడించే నాయక మొసళ్ళకు

పక్షులతోపాటు చెట్టుపై
జాబిలీ వాలింది.
Dusky grows the world
The moon perches on th’ tree
Along with the birds

మిణుగురులు...
అందాల జాబిలిని
చేరుకున్నాయి
The glow-worm-stars reach
around the moon in the blue
Make her lovely too

చిలుకముక్కు
పండ్లెన్ని కొరికిందో
పండిపోయింది.
How many a fruit
Did th’ parrot bite with its beak
That turned ruddy deep

ఉదయాన్నే
పక్షుల్తోపాటు గిలక బావి
అరుస్తోంది!
With the warbling birds
at dawn, the well does chirp too
through its pulley – creak!

తేనేటీగలకే తెలుసు
ప్రతి పువ్వు మనసు వయసు
దాని సొగసు
The bee alone’d feel
the age and pulse o’ every flower
with its natural grace!

పూలు రాలాయి
తల్లి చల్లని ఒడిని
చేరడానికేనేమో
The blossoms have dropped
in the lap of mother earth
to take their cool rest

శిశిర రూపం.
పూలన్నీ రాలిపోయి
మెరుపుతీగ!
The autumn flows off
all flowers down to dusty earth -
a flash in the sky!

గాలివీస్తోంది...
సాముహిక సంగీతం...
~ ఎండుటాకులు.
The wind’s blowing fast
lo ! the music in chorus
made by the dried leaves

వర్షం.
తలదాచుకుందామని వెళ్ళా
చిల్లుల గొడుగు-చెట్టు
In down-pour of rain
I've sheltered there beneath
a big sieve of tree !

పిట్ట చిన్నదే
కూతమాత్రం ఘనంగా
కొండలోయ.
The bird is tiny
But its voice is too, too loud
in the deep, dark vale !

అద్భుత సృష్టి
ఆ దేవుడు గీసిన
ఓ హైకూ చిత్రం
A marvel it is -
the creation of Haiku -

నూతిలోని
తాబేలుకి తోడుగా కప్పలు
వాటికి తోడుగా జాబిలీ
The frogs in the well
their comrade is the tortoise
besides them the moon

నింగికీ నేలకు
రంగుల వంతెనేసింది
~ వర్షం
A colourful bridge
that spans across the earth and sky
-the architect rain

మత్తెక్కించే మల్లెలకు సాటిలేదనుకున్నా
పరిచయం చేసింది వానజల్లు
మట్టి సువాసనని...
Rain-fed earth's perfume
Excels jasmine's sweetest scent
That inebriates

పూలవనం ఆ యింటాయనిదే!
సీతాకోక చిలుకలు మాత్రం
తోటమాలి నేస్తాలైనాయి.
The garden of flowers
the owner owns, butterflies
are th’ gard’ner's friends

జోరుగా వర్షం.
నాలా దేనికిందో తలదాచుకుని
సూర్యుడూ...
The down-pour of rain
and the sun somewhere has hid
as my sheltered self!

వెన్నెల నిండినట్లుంది
నురగలతో కుండ
పొంగి పొర్లుతుంది తాటిచెట్టున
Like moonlight’s froth
flows like beads of bubbles white
the toddy- filled pot

సన్నని జల్లు
తడవటం వారికీ సరదానేమో...
కరెంట్ తీగపై క్యూలో కాకులు...
the gentle showers
perhaps desirous of bath
-The crows queued-up on wires

విచ్చుకున్నది
చీకటి మొగ్గ అందంగా
~ ఉషోదయం.
Lo! The rear of night
Building blooms in the eastern-sky;
There the dappled down!

ఆకుల అలక...
పూలనే స్పృశిస్తున్న
సీతాకోకపై...
How sulky are those leaves
Then look: the butterflies make
love to lovely flowers!

జాబిలికి
అసంఖ్యాక ప్రతిబింబాలు
భూమి అంతటా...
The moon is just one
but countless her reflections
on sea, lake and pond !

గ్రద్దను చూసి
పందెపు పుంజయింది
పిల్లల కోడి
The sight of a kite
makes the hen a fighting cock
the motherly fowl

మబ్బుల నది.
మునక ఈతకొడుతూ
నిండు జాబిలి.
The clouded river
there she ducks and dives and swims
-the silvery moon

కీలుబొమ్మలు
సూర్యకిరణాల చేతుల్లో
సన్ ఫ్లవర్...లోటస్...
A marionette
each, the lotus and sunflower
in the hands of th’ sun

మంచు స్పర్శకు
కన్నెమల్లె మోముపై
ముచ్చెమటలు.
At the touch of spring
the bud tingles into sweat
of virgin blushes

చినుకు ముద్దుకు-
సిగ్గుతో ముడుచుకుంటుంది
టచ్ మీ నాట్!
The kiss of the shower
makes recoil the Touch-me-not
out of shyness sheer.

వానొచ్చిందంటే
అజ్ఞాతవాసం ముగిసినట్లే
~ వానబాములు.
When it gently rains
the earth - worms incognito
does cease in full cheer

పరిమళం లేకుంటే ఏమి
అతి చిన్నగా..అందంగా...
గడ్డిపూలు!
What if devoid of
that heart-easing fragrance sweet
these fair grassy flowers

పోటా పోటీతో
లోకాన్ని మేల్కొల్పుతూ
కాకులు...కోళ్ళూ...
Cocks and crows do make
their rival noise to awake
th’ drowsy world from sleep !

అందరూ అడిగే
ఇంట్లోకి వస్తారు
ఒక్క ఉదయరేఖ తప్ప!
All enter the house
just with our nod of assent
but the morning ray

ఎదపై పాప.
గుండె గుడి గంటలే
జోలపాటగా...!
The babe on my heart
its lullaby is its beat
that lulls it to sleep

చెట్టు
కాయల్ని ఇవ్వలేనిదైనా నీడనిచ్చింది
నీడ ఇవ్వలేనిదైనా అందాన్నిచ్చింది.
The tree though barren
yields shade; though it gives no shade
beauty it doth shed !

రాయి విసిరాను~
నీరుకూడా విన్పించి చూపింది
ఓ మధుర స్వరం,తరంగ చిత్రం.
Flung a little stone,
The music of water seen
A circled picture !

ఏటి ఒడ్డున
మాతోపాటు ప్రయాణిస్తూ
ప్రతిబింబాలూ
By the river side
as we walk the shore along
our shadows move fast.

కొద్దిసేపట్లోనే
నీటిలో మళ్లీ ఒకటైనాయి
విడిపోయిన ప్రతిబింబాలు.
The stirred images
On the glass of waters pure
soon - they come alive

బ్రతుకు ద్వీపం...
ఆటుపోట్ల సమ్మెట
గాయాల తీరం...
Lo ! this isle of life
the buffets of ebb and flow
and the shore of bruise

రాలిపోతోంది
నిరుపేద వృక్షాన
ఆశల పూత
The hopes droop and drop
from the tree of penury
like fresh blighted blooms

గుండె డప్పుపై
నిర్విరామ సంగీతం
జీవన గానం
On the drum of heart
the music ever lasting
-Life’s sweet melody

వృద్ధాశ్రమాలు
బాల్యం తన వెళ్ళనే
నరుక్కుపోతూ...
The callous young ones
that cut at their native roots
drive their 'old' to homes

ఉప్పగా కన్నీరు!
మన హృదయంకూడా
సముద్రం కదా!
Our saline tears spring
from the bottom of our heart
The heart that’s the sea

బరువుగా
తడిసిన ప్రకృతి
~కన్నీటి బ్రతుకు
Nature drenched in full
dripping down there pearly drops -
its a tearful life.

నిష్ఫలమౌతూ
కీచురాళ్ళ స్వరం!
~అల్పుల వేదనా ప్రార్థనలా
Crickets make in vain
their ceaseless unending wail
, -the vespers o'the poor !

సంవత్సరాలు
జీవిత రహదారిలో
మైలురాళ్ళులా...
The mile stones of years
in the long journey of life
- they mark through the way

సున్నంకొట్టిన సమాధులు.
ఇంకా బ్రతికే ఉంది ప్రేమ
ఈ ఆధునిక లోకంలో
The tombs yearly bleached
still parade the human love
e’en i’ the modern world

స్నేహానికి జాతిభేదాలేందుకు?
గేదెతో స్నేహిస్తూ
పక్షులు
Behold there, the birds
Befriend the buffaloes ;
why, then, men hate men

జీవన పోరాటం-
తీగపై నడిచే పక్షిలా మారింది
సర్కస్ పిల్ల
Dire struggle for life
the girl, walking on the rope
like a bird that creeps

వినయం నేర్పుతుంది
ఎన్ని నదులు తనలో కలుస్తున్నా
ఉప్పొంగి హద్దులు మీరట్లేదు సముద్రం.
The sea won't encroach
many a river despite,
by humility taught

చీకటి వెలుతుర్ల మధ్య
వచ్చిపోయే తరంగాలు
లై(ఫ్)హౌస్
Betwixt light and dark
the tides of life come and go
as the light house turns

ప్రవహిస్తున్నాయి
నరాల్లో రక్తంలో నులివెచ్చగా
బాధలూ...భావాలూ..
Streaming forth they go
in nerves and in lukewarm blood
all my pains and thoughts

కొద్దిసేపే దేవుని సానిధ్యంలో
పూజారి...భక్తులు...
పావురాలు నిత్యం!
The doves for e’er dwell
in fanes but the devotees
and the priest, an hour !

నాకు ఇద్దరే పిల్లలు
సూర్య చంద్రుల్లా
నక్షత్రాల్లా కాదు!!
I’ve but children two
like the bright sun and the moon
- unlike myriad stars

పేదోడోగ్రహం
దారిద్యం...కోరికలు
ఉపగ్రహాలు.
The poor man is like
a planet- and his desires
Revolving satellites !

సిటీలో డాగ్ షో
మనుష్యుల్ని ప్రేమించే
మనుష్యులే లేరు...!
A man loves 'dog-shows'
In every so-called city!
but who loves his kind ?

బాహ్య సౌందర్యానికి
బ్యూటీ క్లినిక్ లు ...
ఆత్మ సౌందర్యానికి?!
Beauty clinics thrive
but to serve your form without
who serves th' soul within?

మన ఈ స్నేహం
ప్రాణం ఉన్నందాకనే...
మట్టితో నిత్యం!
As long as there’s life
so long our love remains
in dust, it blooms for age-ever

తాను పోయాడు.
నిశ్శబ్దం నింపుకొని
ఒంటరి గది.
He has passed away
and solemn silence reigned
in the murky room

చప్పరిస్తున్నాయి
కాలం జీవితాలను
నింగి జాబిలిని...
Time snaps away lives
as the heavens do the moon
the incessant game

జన్మనిచ్చిన ఋణం తీర్చుకుంటున్నాయి~
రాలిపడిన ఆకులు
ఎరుపై చెట్టుకు బలాన్నిస్తున్నాయి...
Leaves redeem in turn
Mother tree's indebtedness
being its manure

ఉపక్రమించింది
మృత్యువు మేల్కొన్నాక
జీవం నిద్రకు!
When Death crawls awake
Life, then, from its active play
Lapses into sleep !

మొక్క మొగ్గను
తొడగాలనే ఆశ -తొడిగాక
పూవు రాలబోతుందనే నిరాశ!
The plant feels cheerful
that it bears a bud but then
it’s sad th' flower might droop

రాలిపోతున్నాయి
గాలొచ్చి పండుటాకులు
గాలిపోయి దేహాలు
The wind blowing, drop
the yellowish leaves, like-wise
our bodies, wind gone

యత్రికుల్లా వచ్చి వెళుతున్నాం
తల్లి కడుపులోనుంచి
పుడమి కడుపులోకి
Like pilgrims we come
from mother's womb, to the tomb
like pilgrims we go !

జనన మరణాలు
జీవకోటికి దేవుడిచ్చిన
వరం...శాపం...
It’s God’s bane or boon
that all creatures small and great
are born to perish

వాళ్లుపోయినా
మనం పీల్చేగాలిలోనే
వారి తుది నిశ్వాస
Why sadden our hearts
for the departed ones, we
breathe the breath they left
రాలిపోతున్నాయి
మనకి ఫలాల్ని యిస్తూ
అందమైన పూలు.
Drop and droop those flowers
beautiful that bring us fruit
it’s for us they do !
వాన వెలిశాక
పిల్లల్లో
నేనూ ఒకడ్నయాను
Again, I became
a child among these children,
when it ceased to rain !

నేటి మధుర స్మృతి
మొన్నటి కల
~ వీడిన బాల్యం
Sweet reminiscence
of that innocent childhood
-a dream of the past

తల్లి
తన అభిమాన గాయని...
~ఏడ్పు మాని నిద్రలోకి శిశువు...
The mother - maestro
sings her sweetest melodies
the babe’s lulled to sleep

గొంగళిని ఆహ్వానించా
రేపునన్ను మురిపించే
సీతాకోక చిలుకది.
A caterpillar
I welcome with all my heart
th’ would be butterfly

నేను పువ్వునైతే బాగుణ్ణు
సీతాకోక చిలుకలే
నాకోసం వచ్చేవి...
Were I a fair flower
butter flies would flirt with me...
how lucky’d it be !

యింట్లో
పిచ్చుక గూడుకట్టింది
నా గుండెల్లో కట్టినంత ఆనందం.
My heart’s full of joy,
to see th’ sparrow build her nest
that’s built in my heart.

ధ్యాన మందిరం
పిచ్చుక అరుపులు...
~ధ్యానం మరిచా!!
From the recluse’s cell
the sweet sparrows’ twittering haunts
- meditation fled.

ఎంత బాగుండు
సొంత గూడైనా ఉండేది
పక్షినై ఉంటే
If I were a bird
how wonder full it could be
I would own a nest

చెట్టుక్రింద నేను
నీడకోసమే కాదు
పక్షిపిల్లల పాటకోసంకూడా
I’m beneath the tree
its coolest shade to enjoy
besides the birds’ song

ఇల్లంతా సందడే
వరికంకుల తోరణం కట్టి
పిచ్చుకల్ని ఆహ్వానించా
The twittering sparrows
make festive noise round the house
feeding ears of corn

వానవచ్చి వెళ్తే బాగుణ్ణు.
చూడాలని ఉంది
రంగుల హరివిల్లును.
I wish I would see
the fair rainbow in the sky
if it deigns to rain

చిమ్మ చీకటి
మిణుగురులకు వచ్చిన త్రోవ
గుర్తుందో...లేదో పాపం...
The pitches of dark
the glow-warms might miss their way
while home - wards they go.

సముద్రంలోనుంచి
పైకిలేచివచ్చాక కూడా
ఆరిపోలేదు మండే సూరీడు! Lo! The rising sun
Hardly extinguished at all
Ev’n springing from th’ sea
నింగిలో గ్రద్ద...
రెక్కలు ఆడించకుండానే
ఎగురుతుందా?!
Could a kite, then fly
on its still, motionless wings?
yes, what a marvel !

సీతాకోకలు.
పూలమొగ్గల్ని చూసి
ఎంత నిర్లక్ష్యం!
Stark indifference
of the rainbow'd butterflies
at the sight of buds

అందంగా శూన్యం
నిరాధార గోళాల
పరిభ్రమణంతో...
The great lovely void ...
there the baseless orbs revolve
in the infinite blue

విత్తు ఏదైనా
ఆకుపచ్చని రంగులోనుంచి
ఎన్నెన్ని రంగులో!...
What ever be the seed
the hue that sprouts is but green
Lo! the myriad hues

మట్టిలో దాగిన
రంగులన్నీ బయట పడ్డాయి
పూలల్లో
The infinite hues
Interred so for in the soil
now glaze forth in light

రోజూ నడిచే నడకలో
అదే అంతరాన్ని అనుసరిస్తూ
వెళ్ళే పగలు వచ్చే రాత్రి
In the routine race,
Pursuing the self same space
day and night do change

భూమిలోనే కాదు
శూన్యంలోనూ అదృశ్యంగా రంగులు
~ఇంద్రధనుస్సు
The myriad hues do blaze not only on earth
The rainbow in th' void

గూటికి చేరి
మళ్ళీ ఎగిరెళ్తూ పక్షులు
~సూర్య గ్రహణం
It‘s dark-birds return
to their nests, fly again
-the solar eclipse

ఎక్కడుందో
భూగోళంపై సూర్యుడు గీసిన
రాత్రింబవళ్ళ సరిహద్దురేఖ!
Where is the divide
That the sun breaks day from night
where lies it on earth !

ఇంటిముందున్న చెట్టుని నరికాక
కూలబడ్డ చెట్టులా వుంది
~ఇల్లు
The tree that is hew
falls collapsed before the house
the house - a hewn tree

నరకాలనిపించలేదు

ఎండినా
అందాన్ని చిందిస్తుంది చెట్టు.
I have not the heart
to fell down the tree though dried
its beauty still haunts

వందేళ్ళ చెట్టు.
చూసినప్పుడల్లా
నాటిన తాతను గుర్తుచేస్తూ...
My grand pa had sown
that centenarian tree
- that reminds of him.

తరతరాలు
నిలిచే నా సంతకం~
నాటిన మొక్క
The plant i have grown
is my signature that lives
to the end of time

కీచురాళ్ళు.
రోద ప్రారంభించాయి-ముగించాయి
~సూర్యగ్రహణం
The cricket’s chorus
ended no sooner begun
-the solar eclipse

తీర్చి దిద్దుతున్నాయి
చీకటిని అందంగా
మిణుగురులు.
The roving glow-warms
beautify the dark of night
with their twinkling light

చీకటిని ప్రార్థిస్తూ
కీచురాళ్ళ అరుపులు
ఉషోదయం కోసమేమో...
praying to the night
the whistling of the crickets
for the dawn to break,

అవిఎగిరే
అందంగా ఉంది గాలి.
దూది పింజలు!
The white floating flakes
of the lovelier cotton smooth
beautify the wind.

రోజువచ్చి వెళ్ళే చంద్రుడు
అమావాస్య చీకటిలో
రాలేక ఆగాడేమో ఈ రోజు
The moon that always
comes and goes his usual way
now gropes in th’ dark night

ఎటూ పోలేక
చీకటి ఎడారిలో
తారలు...జాబిలి...
Nonplussed where to go
in the desert of the dark
grope the stars- the moon.

నన్నిలాగే ప్రేమించండి
కలిసిన మట్టిలోనే మళ్ళీ పుడతా
ఏ చెట్టుగానో దాని పూవుగానో...
Love me as you've done
till now, I'll be born again
a flower from the dust

ఉదయాన పోట్లాడుకున్నాం
రాత్రికి
ఒకటిగా చేసింది చలి.
A tus'le in the morn
has kept us far both apart
th’ cold night, made us one

చేపకోసం మనిషి
ఎరకోసం చేప
ఒకరికితెలియకుండా ఒకళ్ళు
The man for the fish
the fish for the fatal bait;
gull’d both fish and bait

ముళ్ళ మధ్య
నవ్వుతూ సున్నిత కుసుమం
నాగజెముడు.
A midst the thistles
of the thorny wilderness
smiles a pretty flower

సూర్యకిరణం
చొరబడే తావేది
~కాంక్రీట్ అరణ్యం
Scarce the ray of Th’ sun
pierces through the forest dense
Not a ray can pierce.

పక్షులేలేకుంటే
ఆకాశం
వేల్తిగా ఉండేదేమో!
The lovely blue sky
would seem dull and desolate
but for th' cheerful birds

సాగిపోతోంది
జీవిత నౌక శబ్దం
లబ్ డబ్ లబ్ డబ్...
On goes life's voyage
the boat with the beat of sound
of lub-dub, lub-dub!

జీవకోటిపై
అప్రకటిత యుద్ధం
~భీకర తుఫాన్
O’er the cosmic life
there comes the undeclared war
- of a ghastly storm

కాల్చినా పూడ్చినా
అందరూ మన్నుగా మన్నులోకే
~మట్టిని ప్రేమించు
Those that are buried
and those that are cremated
are dust so love it

మట్టి ఏదైనా
మొలిచే వర్ణమొకటే
మనిషితో ఎదుగు
What ever be the soil
The hue of sprout is the same
so be it with men

రాత్రి ఏదో కల.
తెల్లారి ఎంతకీ గుర్తుకు రాలేదు.
కళ్ళల్లో కరిగిందేమో!
In deep sleep some dream
unremembered now has gone
dissolved in my eyes

నీట్లో వృత్తాలు...
వృత్తలేఖినయింది
ప్రతి చినుకు
Every little shower
paints a circle there, upon
the watery glass

పూజిస్తున్నాయి
వారి మాతృ పాదాల్నే
రాలిన పూలు
The flowers that have dropped
do adore their mother earth
by touching here feat

అడగకనే
ప్రాణాలు పోస్తూ..తీస్తూ..
దేవుని ఆట
Willy- nilly, god
plays with life and death of man
without man’s asking.

గద్దలా గాలి
తన్నుకు పోతుంది
కారుమబ్బుల్ని
The wiled wind swoops up
the dark clouds across the blue
in fright they take flight

దీపం చుట్టూ
మూగిన పురుగులు
~నక్షత్రాలు
The myriad stars
are like the moths that flock round
- the bright orb of flame

ఆహుతి అవుతున్నాయి
కొవ్వొత్తి కోసం అగ్గిపుల్ల
వెలుగు కోసం కొవ్వొత్తి
Matches fall a prey
to candles... they know not why !
th' candles do, for light.

పక్షిని జయించినా
ఎగరలేక పోయాను
వాటంత నిర్భయంగా స్వేచ్ఛగా...
We've made a conquest
of birds in their flight; but we
Do in constant fear !

కళ్ళు లేకున్నా
కలల కాన్పులేన్నెన్నో
మనసుంటే చాలు
What if one is blind
the mind’s eye can guess and see
Umpteen rainbow-dreams !

విర్రవీగకు
దేనినీ జయించినా
మరణముంది
Victor, be not proud
of thy conquests loud but vain
death thy victor waits !

కక్ష్యలో తిరుగుతూ గ్రహాలు
మానవత్వ కక్ష్యతప్పి కక్షలతో
మనుషులు
The planets revolve
In their orbits steadily
but men swerve thro' hate

మేస్తోంది మేక
సభ్యతను పాటించమంటూ
గోడమీద అశ్లీల పోస్టర్లని!
How the goat, grazing
the posters pornographic,
warns man o’ propriety

నా కాళ్ళకింద నలిగినా మట్టి
కుమ్మరి చేతిలో
కళాత్మక భాండమైంది
Trod beneath my feet
the dust pulsates into art
in the potter’s hand

సముద్రంలోనుంచి
పైకి లేచి వచ్చాక కూడా
ఆరిపోలేదు మండే సూర్యుడు!
Lo! the rising sun
hardly extinguished at all

నిజం
ఎప్పటికీ నిప్పే
అబద్దమే
నిజాన్ని దాచాననుకునే నివురు

భూగోళం అంచుపై
కనురెప్పను వాల్చింది
కాంతినేత్రం.
పురివిప్పిన నింగి

మూగవాళ్ళ
సంజ్ఞలు
మాటల మోసాలు లేని
స్వచ్ఛమైన భాష

భార్యంటే నేటి అర్థం
భర్తలో సగం కాదు
కష్టాల్లో పూర్ణం
సుఖాల్లో శూన్యం

చచ్చాక కూడా
ఆక్రమణలే !
కూడళ్ళలో
నాయకుల విగ్రహాలు

నలుదిక్కులు
ప్రసరించిన
హృదయభాను కిరణాలు
నానీలు

జీవితమంటే
రోజూ కొంచెం కొంచెంగా
ఆశతో
బ్రతుకుతూ చావడం

పిల్లాడి చేతిలో
బలపమై
వెలిగిపోతూ ఆరిపోతూ
మాస్టారు

ఆకలి తీర్చేందుకు
దొరకని గంజి
నేత ఖద్దరు చొక్కాకు
కానుకైంది

నాది డాక్టరేట్
మా అబ్బాయ్ ఫిఫ్త్ క్లాస్
నాకంటే
మావాడి చదువే "విలువైనది"

వంటింటి
కారాగార గృహంలో
ఆజన్మాంత ఖైదీ
త్యాగాల అమ్మ

ఎలుకల గొడవ
పిల్లితీర్చునో లేదోగాని
దొంగల పంపకం
పోలీస్లే...!

ఇల్లు శుభ్రంగా ఉంచుతాడు
వీధే...!
మనిచి శుభ్రంగా ఉంటాడు
కాని మనసే...!

ప్రజాస్వామ్య క్షేత్రంలో
కలుపు మొక్కలు...
పదునులేని కొడవళ్ళు
ప్రజలు.

దేశపౌరుల తలరాతల్ని
తిరగరాసే
అపర బ్రహ్మలు
నేతలు

వారథి మీదుగా
అగాధాల్ని దాటుతాము
స్నేహవారధుల్నే
నిర్మించుకోం!

ఎగువ రాష్ట్రం
డ్యాంల నిర్మాణం.
బురద చల్లుకుంటూ
పాలక-ప్రతిపక్షాలు.

దొంగలందరూ
ఒకేలా పుట్టారు.
కొందరు ఆకల్లోంచి
ఎందరో ఓట్లల్లోంచి...

పట్టా భూమితో
రైతుకి భరోసా.
ఎన్ని పట్టలున్నా
నిరుద్యోగికి నిరాశ!

అనగనగా...
ఒకానొకప్పుడు పిచ్చుకలు!
సెల్ ఫోన్ హత్యలకు
తొలిబలి

ఎన్నో పార్టీలే కల్సి
పాలన సాగిస్తుంటే
వెర్రోళ్ళు
విడాకులు కావాలట!

నేలకొరిగే చెట్లు
ఓజోన్ పొరకు తూట్లు
ఓ కూనలమ్మ!

చదవడం ఒక సొత్తు
బతకం ఒక ఎత్తు
జీవితం గమ్మత్తు
ఓ కూనలమ్మ!

ఓట్లు ఇచ్చును హక్కు
నోట్లు పంచిన దక్కు
కోట్లు నేతలు నొక్కు
ఓ కూనలమ్మ!

కనుమరుగు రాట్నాలు
విరివిగా కట్నాలు
ఎదుగునా పట్నాలు
ఓ కూనలమ్మ!

చదువుకుంటే చాలు
కలుగునెంతో మేలు
తొలగు నీలో డీలు
ఓ కూనలమ్మ!

పిల్లలకు పరీక్షలు
భక్తులకీ దీక్షలు
దొరలకేవి శిక్షలు
ఓ కూనలమ్మ!

తగ్గి ఉండుట మంచి
మంచి నిలుపుము పంచి
పంచి పెంచు సహించి
ఓ కూనలమ్మ!

బాల్యదశలో బడికి
వయసులో సఖి ఒడికి
వార్ధక్యాన గుడికి
ఓ కూనలమ్మ!

నివురు కప్పు నిప్పును
తప్పు మింగు ఒప్పును
నీతి కనులు విప్పును
ఓ కూనలమ్మ!

జీవితం నాటకం
మమతలూ బూటకం
జననమరణ గమకం

హృది ఆశ చిత్తడి
మమతల మది ఇత్తడి
మానవతే పుత్తడి

లోకాన్ని పసిగట్టు
సత్యాన్ని కనిపెట్టు
దురాత్ముల పనిపట్టు

ఆ-డది కాదాడది
మమతల తడి ఆరనిది
ఇలలొ దేవతైనది

పోలీసులు - దొంగలు
రౌడీలు - నాయకులు
ఆదర్శ స్నేహితులు

కలిపేయును పొత్తులు
విడదీయును ఎత్తులు
రాజకీయ జిత్తులు

కావు జన పత్రికలు
పార్టీల పుత్రికలు
ఫోర్త్ ఎస్టెటస్థికలు
ఓ కూనలమ్మ!

ఖనిజాలతో గనులు
దోచి దాయును ఘనులు
డీల్ కుదిరిన దొంగలు
ఓ కూనలమ్మ!

మూడు రంగుల జెండ
అవాలి పేదలండ
ఇకదే మన అజెండ
ఓ కూనలమ్మ!

గడ్డి మేసెను లాలు
గద్దెక్కె ఇల్లాలు
పదవిలేదా సోలు
ఓ కూనలమ్మ!

బాబ్రీని కూల్చింది
ఐఖ్యతను పూడ్చింది
కమలమే కమిలింది
ఓ కూనలమ్మ!

మాయావతి మాయలు
మూలా'యముని'లీలలు
సిగ్గులేని నేతలు

పేరు చివరన కులం
మెడలో గోల్డు తులం
కావవి మన శీలం

పి.ఎం.తుమ్మిన చాలు

షేర్లు బూడిద పాలు

భూతాపం పట్టదు

లేదు నీతి నేతకు
రాదుగా మతి ప్రజకు

తెల్లదొరలు పోయెను
నల్లదొరలు వచ్చెను
దోపిడీలు హెచ్చెను

ధరలు ధరపై లేవు
దేశమంతా కరువు
ప్రభుకు వెతలు చేరవు

కాదు ప్రజారాజ్యం
లేదు ప్రజాస్వామ్యం
దేశ ప్రగతి పూజ్యం

సెల్ ఫోన్లలో సొల్లు
టాక్ టైం నిల్వ నిల్లు
జేబులకింక చిల్లు

లేదిల దేశభక్తి
అంతా దైవభక్తి
ఉత్సవాల్లో రక్తి

పుచ్చుకొనుట ఇష్టం
ఇచ్చుకొనుట కష్టం
కట్నాదులు భ్రష్టం

నేతకు పదవి మెట్టు
పేదకు పెదవి గట్టు
అంతరం లోగుట్టు

గడ్డి తినే నేతలు
కాపలాగ కుక్కలు
చుట్టాల చట్టాలు

కాళ్ళు వస్తాయి ఫైల్స్ కి

అవి నీతికి ఆలయంగా
ఉండాల్సింది పోయి
అవినీతి కార్యాలయాలుగా
పనిచేస్తున్నాయి

తే. తాను చేసిన బొమ్మను తానె చిదుపు
మరణమను పేర దైవమ్ము మనసులేక
నాకు జన్మమ్మునిచ్చిన నాన్న!...నీవె
అసలు సిసలైన బ్రహ్మ నా ఆయువునకు
